Improving the quality of social homes in Wales

Explore the recently published consultation on Welsh Housing Quality Standard 2023 with government officials and ask your important questions.

The Welsh Housing Quality Standard 2023 (WHQS23) will define the focus of much of our work over the next decade. With its proposed emphasis on sustainability and decarbonisation, this is a must-attend session for all housing professionals, particularly those working in asset management or decarbonisation roles.

We know there will be a significant investment coming down the track, but this is your opportunity to discover the Welsh Government's expectations from the proposed new standards as we're joined by officials who have pulled together the consultation document.

This virtual event is an opportunity to:

  • Get first hand insight into the thinking that has shaped the components included in the new standard
  • Learn about the recent emphasis in the standard promoting the drive towards net-zero
  • Explore practical aspects of implementation and the expectations of affordable housing providers.

Your speakers

  • Cathy Johnson, WHQS senior policy officer and financial analyst, Welsh Goverment
  • Patrick Myall, Architect and housing standards technical officer, Welsh Goverment
  • Gowan Watkins, Principal research officer, Welsh Goverment

Your chair

  • Matt Dicks, director, Chartered Institute Of Housing Cymru
