Welcome everyone to the 2025 Welsh Housing Award's Good Practice Compendium - recognising the great work that housing professionals are providing across Wales.
CIH Cymru is the home of professional standards and membership body for housing professionals working in Wales.
That means we have the twin responsibility of not only ensuring that our members, and the wider housing sector, have all the learning and professional development tools at their disposals, including access to depository good practice, but also highlighting and celebrating the impact that our members have, on a daily basis, on so many lives.
Our Good Practice Compendium, and the Welsh Housing Awards, do both. It is a comprehensive chronicle of the achievements of housing professionals across the breadth of work that housing organisations do. From the development of new social homes to making our existing ones more sustainable; to supporting healthier lives and supporting community projects; to supporting tenants to take an active role in scrutiny to supporting schemes that help end homelessness; across tenures, and across Wales; our Good Practice Compendium captures it all and celebrates our achievements as a sector.
It fulfills CIH Cymru’s Royal Charter requirement to promote the art and science of housing, its standards and ideals, and the training and education of those in the profession. The standards and ideals that as housing professionals, we all share.
The awards tonight celebrate a range of different categories that reflect the breadth of expertise and practice in Wales. These awards are, I hope, a fitting recognition of the impact you are all making as housing professionals.

Welsh language
At CIH Cymru we know that the Welsh language is of massive importance to you as housing professionals and the communities in which you work across Wales. As your membership body, we want to ensure that we also play a leading role in promoting the Welsh language whilst supporting you to develop your skills, knowledge, and expertise.
