On 22 September 2026 the Welsh government published their Programme for Government for 2026-2030. The programme is seen by Welsh government as a blueprint for change in Wales and sets out Plaid Cymru’s vision for Wales over the next four years. The programme sets out the following wellbeing objectives:
The Programme for Government also sets out how the whole of government will deliver on these priorities. The Programme for Government is intended to cover the next four years. However, a review will be undertaken mid-term to allow for flexibility in response to unforeseen policy shifts, economic or geopolitical shocks in a conscious and considered way.
There is no one priority for housing, rather the commitments for work relating directly to housing are under several wellbeing objectives. We have mirrored this approach as we set out what the housing priorities for the next four years are. We have also set out the priorities that could impact the housing sector together with the wellbeing objective they come under.
