Our volunteer network is an essential part of the way that we work and the support that you give us enables us to be the professional body that champions the housing sector, builds communities of passionate professionals and equips those working in it with the knowledge and skills they need.
This handbook will give you the information and resources you need to carry out your role as a CIH volunteer. Your Volunteer Pack page is where you can find group-specific documents such as Terms of Reference, role descriptions and other additional resources. These will be referenced throughout the handbook.

If you’re unsure about anything in this handbook, speak to your designated CIH officer in the first instance. They can help you find the right policy, form, template, or colleague and can escalate questions where specialist advice is needed.
If you need information in a different format or require a reasonable adjustment to take part in volunteer activity, please speak to your designated CIH officer as early as possible so that support can be arranged where appropriate.
