Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) is pleased to announce a new exemption aimed at supporting chartered members who are working towards compliance with the Competence and Conduct Standard by completing a CIH qualification.
Professionals who achieved chartered membership via the experienced professional route will be exempt from completing the Level 4 unit: Professionalism in Housing (H424).
This exemption recognises the knowledge and experience Chartered Members have already demonstrated, enabling them to focus on the remaining units of their Level 4 or Level 5 qualification without repeating assessment.
Sarah Dunkerley, CIH’s director of membership and professional development commented on the news: “As the professional body for people who work in housing, CIH is dedicated to supporting our members and the sector as they prepare for the implementation of the Competence and Conduct Standard.
“We are delighted to be able to announce this exemption as part of that commitment – recognising the experience, expertise and professionalism that chartered members have previously demonstrated.”

To apply for the exemption learners should inform their study centre of their intent to apply for the exemption when enrolling along with evidence that they achieved chartered status via the experienced professional route.
