CIH expands Scotland and Northern Ireland teams with two new appointments

CIH has kicked off the new year by bolstering its teams in Scotland and Northern Ireland with two new appointments. 

Gordon Smith joins CIH Scotland as its new engagement manager, while Georgia Knapp takes up the role of policy and public affairs manager at CIH Northern Ireland. 

The appointments further enhance CIH’s commitment to delivering for members and working with policymakers to effect positive change across a range of housing issues.

About Gordon Smith

Gordon joins CIH Scotland with more than 10 years of experience in membership engagement, leading business growth, building communities and listening to members’ voices. As engagement manager, Gordon will play a crucial role in supporting and managing existing CIH members while growing the CIH community in Scotland. 

Commenting on his appointment, Gillian McLees, director of CIH Scotland, said: “We are delighted that Gordon has joined the team, bringing a wide range of experience from different organisations. I know our Scottish members will welcome Gordon and tap into his expertise as we move forward and support members with the professionalism agenda that is gathering pace across the housing sector.” 

Gordon added: “I am delighted to join CIH as engagement manager for Scotland. I am looking forward to getting to know the members in Scotland and helping them maximise their membership.”

About Georgia Knapp

Georgia joins CIH Northern Ireland with more than seven years’ experience in government policy with the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, including six years working directly on Northern Ireland affairs. 

Commenting on her appointment, she said: “I am delighted to be joining CIH as policy and public affairs manager for Northern Ireland. Working on Northern Ireland policy issues has been a great passion of mine for a long time, and I am really looking forward to engaging with members on how we can improve the housing sector here.”
