CIH invests in Welsh language

We’re pleased to share that the CIH website is now fully bilingual meaning members in Wales can access content through Welsh and English.

In 2019, the CIH Governing Board approved our updated Welsh Language policy which was produced in partnership with members in Wales. At the heart of the policy was the commitment to improve the amount of Welsh language content offered over time.

Speaking around the changes today, CIH Cymru national director, Matt Dicks said, “At CIH, we are fully committed to improving equality, diversity and inclusion in our organisation, throughout our membership and across the housing sector.

“We have around 1,000 members in Wales and for many, they live their personal and professional lives through their first language which is Welsh.

“This change to our website follows hot on the heels of our recent work undertaken in partnership with Gower College to translate our main qualifications content into Welsh with the support of grant funding from Qualifications in Wales (QiW).

“Inclusivity is at the heart of our ethos as an organisation and we will continue to work with members in Wales to further develop our bilingual services.”
