Matthew Busher, neighbourhood director at Kingdom Housing Association, has been nominated to take over from Kerry Clayton as vice chair of the CIH Scotland Board. Matthew will take up the role at the CIH AGM in October 2025.
Matthew has over 20 years’ experience working in the housing sector in Scotland including a range of front-line service roles as well as supervisory and senior roles. In his current role he has responsibility for neighbourhood housing services, customer services and enhanced customer support teams. Matthew has been a Chartered Member of CIH since 2014 and a CIH Scotland Board member since 2021.
On his appointment to the role of vice chair of the CIH Scotland Board Matthew said: “I am delighted to have been nominated as vice chair and look forward to working with Kerry and the CIH Scotland Board to continue to support the valuable work of CIH Scotland and its members."
Current CIH Scotland board vice chair Kerry Clayton has already been officially confirmed as the new chair of the CIH Scotland Board, taking over from Gavin Smith in October. Congratulating Matthew on his appointment, Kerry said: “I am really pleased Matthew will be taking up the role of vice chair. Matthew brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to the position and demonstrates great commitment to CIH and the housing sector. I look forward to working closely with Matthew over this next term.”
Current chair of the CIH Scotland Board Gavin Smith added his congratulations and said: “I am delighted to officially welcome Matthew as incoming vice chair and I congratulate Kerry once again on her new role as incoming chair. They are both exceptionally skilled and passionate housing professionals, committed to giving back to the sector they care about and I know that they will give their all to supporting CIH Scotland members and Scotland’s housing sector.”
