CIH Welsh Housing Awards 2026 open for applications

Applications are now open for the CIH Welsh Housing Awards 2026, sponsored by Aico. The awards recognise the passion, skill and dedication that goes into creating ground-breaking projects, sustainable homes and vital support to tenants, customers and communities across Wales.

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Glamorgan County Cricket Club in Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens on Thursday 19 November 2026.

Across 18 categories, the awards highlight everything from excellence in professionalism, innovation and customer service, to supporting health and wellbeing and preventing homelessness. They recognise the many, varied teams and professionals who go above and beyond in their commitment to the housing sector, from large housing organisations to smaller businesses.

All award entries will be reviewed by a judging panel of tenants, residents, and housing experts, providing a well-rounded assessment of every application. The deadline for nominations is Monday 21 September 2026.

Commenting on this year’s awards, Matt Dicks, national director of CIH Cymru said: “Every year these awards remind us why this sector matters – the people and projects transforming homes and communities across Wales. Not just the established organisations and practitioners but also the small teams and rising talent who form the future of the sector. These awards are a chance to put that work in the spotlight, from the homes being built to the services that sit behind them.

“I would encourage every housing organisation who can demonstrate impact and innovation to consider entering this year. Alongside the judging panel, I’m looking forward to hearing all the great work being demonstrated throughout our housing sector.”

Shortlisted entries will be announced on Monday 5 October. As with previous years, these will be showcased in an online Good Practice Compendium, an accessible core learning document for the sector providing inspiration to deliver on the shared vision of providing a sustainable and affordable housing option for everyone. The 2026 compendium will be available on our website following the awards event on Thursday 19 November.
