Refugee Week 2023: CIH's five key asks of government

Everyone seeking asylum or arriving as refugees in the UK must have access to decent and secure accommodation.

Our key asks of government are to:

1. Build on the success of 'Homes for Ukraine' to assist all those arriving from conflict
2. End the use of barracks, barges and other substandard accommodation
3. Include people from abroad in the drive to end rough sleeping and to help victims of domestic abuse
4. Hand back the task of accommodating asylum seekers to local authorities and give them the resources to do it
5. Stop the discriminatory 'right to rent' checks on tenants of private rented property.
