The Scottish parliament elections on 7 May 2026 elected 129 MSPs to parliament with the final results being declared as:
The Scottish National Party (SNP) retained the majority of seats but fell short of an overall parliamentary majority meaning they will need to work with opposition parties to successfully pass legislation in the next parliamentary term.
Ahead of the elections, CIH Scotland launched its manifesto for housing: Our Future Starts at Home, which sets out the priorities CIH members want to see the Scottish government deliver in the next parliament. Through a series of workshops, surveys and face-to-face discussions, CIH members set out five key priorities they believe will tackle the housing emergency and put the sector on a firm footing for the future:
