How to renew

Renewing your CIH membership has never been easier. You can pay for your CIH membership easily online, over the phone by calling 024 7685 1700 or emailing membership.services@cih.org.

Paying by credit or debit card?

  1. Login to your MyCIH account here
  2. Click renew your membership
  3. Edit or complete the fee payer address - this is your billing address. Please note: If you're using a company card please select the tick box that says 'is your employer paying for your membership?'
  4. Select your payment method as card and click next
  5. Complete the transaction by completing your card details and select make payment
  6. Then your membership will automatically renew and your payment receipt will be available under my documents in your MyCIH accout between 48-72 hours after payment

Is your employer paying for your membership?

  1. Login to your MyCIH account here
  2. Click renew your membership
  3. Select the tick box that says 'is your employer paying for your membership?' at the bottom, this will complete the feepayer address. If it's still blank please add your employers address
  4. Select your payment method as invoice
  5. Add in a purchase order number (if you have one) and click next
  6. Now your membership will automatically renew and invoice will automatically go to your employer. Please ensure this is paid promptly to ensure you continue to receive your member benefits.
Pay via Direct Debit

Set up a Direct Debit online

  1. Login to your MyCIH account and go to membership
  2. Here you can find your membership details and you'll need to set up a bank account before you can renew your membership via Direct Debit
  3. Once you've set up a valid bank account go back to your membership details and click renew your membership

Frequently asked questions

How do I pay for my membership?

Login to your MyCIH account, go to membership and click on renew membership. You can then choose how you woud like to pay:

  • Pay by credit/debit card
  • Request an invoice to go to your employer
  • Spread the cost over 12 months for no additional fee via Direct Debit.

I'm having trouble logging into the CIH website, how do I do this?

Are you having trouble accessing your existing account?

Please email customer@cih.org if you need help accessing your account.

If you have never logged into the new CIH website please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the CIH login page
  2. Click ‘Sign up now’ under the big blue sign in button – don’t complete any fields at this stage
  3. Enter your email address, ensuring it’s the email we would have on our system for you
  4. Click 'Send verification code'
  5. Check your inbox for an email with your verification code and copy this in to the box then click 'Verify code' (check your spam/junk email just in case)
  6. Once the verification code has been verified, add a password and complete the 'Known as', 'First Name' and 'Last Name' fields
  7. Click the 'Create'
  8. You will then be able to access your account.

How much is my membership fee? 

Go to membership in your MyCIH account and you can view your membership subscription fee for 2022.

How do I cancel my membership?

Please email membership.services@cih.org or call 024 7685 1700 if you would like to cancel your membership. 

How do I set up a Direct Debit?

To set up a Direct Debit:

  1. Login to your MyCIH account and go to membership
  2. Here you can find your membership details and you'll need to set up a bank account before you can renew your membership via Direct Debit
  3. Once you've set up a valid bank account go back to your membership details and click renew your membership
  4. Follow the steps to set up your Direct Debit and spread the cost of your membership fee.

Can I apply for a reduced rate?

A concessionary rate of £73 is applicable to the following classes of membership; under '30s, tenant, HR professional, retired and career break. If this is applicable to you please contact the membership team by calling 024 7685 1700 or email us.

Can I reclaim tax on my membership subscription?

CIH is an HMRC approved professional body which means that if you are a UK taxpayer and you pay your own membership fees, you may be entitled to claim tax relief on your subscription. By claiming tax relief, you are able to reduce the cost of your membership. Contact the membership team today on 024 7685 1700 or email us.
