We want to make sure that all of our volunteers get off to a flying start, equipped with all the information they need to begin their role. Your volunteer group lead/chair and designated CIH officer will be able to support you to ensure you have access to everything you need.
The checklist below should ensure that you’re all set to begin:
- Review the volunteer handbook.
- If your volunteer member group has Terms of Reference, acquaint yourself with these. You can find these in your Volunteer Pack.
- Read the CIH Corporate Plan to ensure you are aligned with our mission and goals. This can be found in your Volunteer Pack.
- Where relevant, familiarise yourself with your group’s operational plan. This can be found in your Volunteer Pack.
- Get familiar with the CIH code of conduct and code of ethics. These can be found in your Volunteer Pack.
- Attend a governance induction session. The invitation for this should come through from your designated CIH officer.
- Consider whether you might have any conflicts of interest and, if you can identify one, complete a Conflict of Interest form and return it to your designated CIH officer. You can find this form in your Volunteer Pack.
- Read the CIH Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy. You can find this in your Volunteer Pack.
