We've taken a break from tradition for this issue by featuring a news story as our lead piece. But not without good reason, as a new report by CIH Scotland, in partnership with Fife Council, has brought to light the shocking shortfall of Local Housing Allowance for those in the Scottish private-rented sector. Be sure to read the analysis from CIH Scotland director Callum Chomczuk.
Speaking of, it's been a busy couple of weeks in the realm of politics, from Suella Braverman's attack on homelessness to Lee Rowley's return as housing minister. And then there's everything mentioned about housing in the King's Speech, which we've covered in this issue alongside analysis from our head of policy and external affairs, Rachael Williamson.
Elsewhere, we've got the main talking points from SEC 2023, which featured our director of policy and external affairs, James Prestwich; and an insightful blog from former CIH president Aileen Evans on ways in which the sector can push housing up the political agenda.
